A solo studio making cozy, bite-sized tributes to the BBS door games of the '90s. First up: Legend of the Ultimate Dragon.

One person, one studio, building Legend of the Ultimate Dragon — a single-player game in the shape of the door games people used to dial into a BBS to play.
I write about the build here every couple of weeks: what got made, what broke, and what I decided and why. No schedule announcements, no roadmap — just the work as it happens.
A cozy, bite-sized tribute to the BBS door games of the '90s — 30 days, one dragon, and something underneath that remembers you.

Single-player. Not multiplayer, not a MUD, not an actual BBS door — a tribute built for one person at a time, the way most of us ended up playing them anyway once the board went quiet.
Legend of the Red Dragon, Usurper, TradeWars — if those names mean something to you, this is being built for you specifically.

Where it stands. Turn-based combat, a town that changes with the hour, and a thirty-day clock running underneath all of it. Playable, and nowhere near finished.
In development. Coming to Steam.

When I was thirteen I ran a BBS out of Montgomery, Alabama, on VBBS. I called it Realms — because that is what you were doing when you dialled in. You were entering somebody's realm to play games from a dozen other worlds.
Realm Creation Studios is the second step of that. I am not entering the realms any more; I am making them.
One person. The first title is Legend of the Ultimate Dragon, a single-player tribute to the BBS door games — Legend of the Red Dragon most directly, with Usurper and TradeWars in the water. More games are being designed and waiting behind it, set in the same world.
A one-person studio with no budget ships a game in 2026 because the tools changed. I want to be specific about which ones, because vagueness here is worse than the truth.
The illustrated art was generated with Midjourney under a single controlled style reference and palette, then reviewed and corrected by hand. The soundtrack was composed using Suno from my own musical direction. Portions of the narrative text were drafted with the assistance of a large language model and edited by me. All game design, all systems, and all code are my own work. Nothing in the game is generated while you play it.
That is the whole answer, and it is the same answer that appears on the Steam page.
A post every couple of weeks about building Legend of the Ultimate Dragon. Nothing else, no schedule, unsubscribe any time.
